Dear Clients

Over the last few weeks, the JSE has been going down day after day. We understand this is nerve-wracking and especially frustrating after such a long period of very low returns. It is during these difficult times that Foster Wealth takes a look at internal factors a.k.a the things we can control.

1. Costs

In partnership with Fund House we have been able to secure very competitive fund fees. In some cases, institutional fees classes have been secured in your portfolios.

2. Choice of Funds

Your portfolio has a selection of funds which are the best in the market. The process for selecting these funds is extremely thorough consisting of 50 hours upfront research and then ongoing reviews. Most importantly Foster Wealth and FundHouse are independent, so the only objective is to build the very best portfolio possible. We have no incentive to pick a particular fund manager. If its Red or Blue it doesn’t change our business.

3. Client Services

Combining the two points above, we endeavour to create the best value for money. Our philosophy is to keep things simple and effective. We take a hands-on approach and invite you to contact us should you wish to discuss your portfolios and review whether they are indeed most suitably positioned.

Now is a very good time to inject cash into your investments if you are looking for growth over time. (see it as a Black Friday sale!) For our retired clients, circumstances are more challenging, we understand the cost of living has gone up and up over the past few years. The only actions to take is to try not to increase your income drawdowns and finally just hang in there. The last thing we want to do is cash in a high-quality portfolio that is suffering a temporary downturn. Staying the course is a powerful move. Markets work in cycles, the hard part is, we don’t know how long or short these cycles are. But we know they are cycles.

Please do not hesitate to contact us should you have any queries.
